DIY Lip Scrub

  1. Start by mixing Shea Butter, Coconut Oil and honey in a small bowl.
  2. Add in lemon essential oil and lavender essential oil
  3. Slowly stir in sugar until mixture reaches desired consistency.
  4. Store DIY lip scrub in a lip balm tin or glass jar.
  5. Use within 1 month and store in the refrigerator.

Before each use, let the scrub sit out and adjust to room temperature to soften up before applying.  Using a generous amount, apply the scrub to your lips in a gentle circular motion. Let it sit for 1-2 minutes and then remove with a warm washcloth.

Ingredient benefits!

Lavender Essential Oil: Lavender is well known for its skin healing and nourishing properties. It works wonders on scars, dryness, and burns.
Lemon Essential Oil: Lemon gives this scrub its fresh smell. It helps to brighten dull skin and is a wonderful cleaning agent.
Organic Coconut Oil: Coconut oil contains fatty acids and antioxidants that nourish and moisturize your skin
Unscented Shea Butter: Shea Butter is a skin nourishing emollient.
Cane Sugar: The glycolic acid in cane sugar helps condition and protect skin. It gently exfoliates skin, getting rid of dry or dead skin cells. Don’t scrub too hard, though! Soft, gentle circles with this DIY lip scrub work best. Besides being a great exfoliator, glycolic acid helps with a variety of other issues such as clogged pores, acne, aging, and hyperpigmentation.
Honey: This stuff is pretty much amazing for skin and health. Loaded with antioxidants, honey naturally fights bacteria and moisturizes. It draws up moisture from the skin and keeps it there.
